We’re right in the middle of winter in New England, and Collective Thought Media is staying busy with lots of new video, web, photography and print projects. Over the last 3 months, we’ve been working on websites for Wolff Golf Gloves, Towerhill Associates and Belle Maison Textiles. On the print side we’ve been working on our regular magazines as well as launching a new full size lifestlye magazine for Fairways of Life, the brand created by celebrity golfer Matt Adams.
We’ve also completed a website for our partners New England Publishing Group’s newest brand, GolfFashionWeekly.com. As part of the launch of Golf Fashion Weekly, the entire New England Publishing Group team traveled to Orlando, Florida to cover the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show. Along with New England Golf Monthly staff, we provided coverage of many new products and fashion lines that were announced at the PGA Show. The PGA Merchandise Show is one of the largest industry only tradeshows in the world, and features:
- Nearly 10 miles of show aisles.
- 1 million square feet of interactive exhibit, product demonstration and industry presentation space.
- More than 40,000 influential PGA Professionals, manufacturing executives, VIP retailers, industry leaders & top decision-makers
We’ve also been staying busy on the photography and video side as well, and I’ve been growing my arsenal of video equipment. In the last couple months I’ve added a 40″ Konova slider and a couple other key pieces of equipment.
We’ve completed a donated video for the Community Preparatory School located in Providence, RI. It was great to work with Lisa Dantas and all the staff and students at CPS, they truly do great work there.
In December of 2012, we also completed our first engagement with the Newport Dinner Train. We were hired to provide onsite photography and print services for their annual Polar Express event, and we acquired all the equipment and staffing in a little under two weeks. This now gives us the ability to complete on-site photography prints and photobooth style photography for events around New England. You can read more about that at events.NewportRIphotos.com
Another project we were excited to complete was the photography and album artwork for Rhode Island / CT artist Big Rush. I led the creative direction on the project by shooting some unique portrait photography in Providence, and then used that to create the final album artwork. We’ve also just recently completed a new website for Big Rush as well.
We have also recently completed a set of corporate portraits for Towerhill Associates. Towerhill is a career placement firm located in downtown Newport, RI and are one of our favorite clients. They represent young, innovative talent and are always forward looking in their approach to marketing and business.
Another recent photography project was covering the launch of Bistro 162, a new European style bistro located on Broadway in Newport. Photography was completed by myself and Jennifer Manville Photography, you can see the whole set of photos HERE and HERE. We look forward to working with Bistro 162 in the future on photography and video related projects.
Another video project that we recently completed was for the book trailer contest held by Amazon Studios for the noir inspired novel “Murder by Moonlight” Shot over three days around Newport, RI, the trailer features the production and cinematography work of myself, with direction and production from DirtyDurdie’s Demmene Syronne as well. This was one of the first full productions that we have put together, and we’re pretty proud of it!
On the digital marketing side, we are proud to announce that we will be working with LIN Media for a six month initial engagement to produce their internal company eNewsletters. LIN Media has over 30,000 employees across the country, and is one of the top 100 media companies in the world. We are excited for this partnership and to provide the service of creating their internal company eNewsletters. New England Publishing Group is providing eMail distribution for this project.
I have also recently joined the Rhode Island Film Collabrative, and am looking forward to working and meeting more creative video and film professionals in Rhode Island. My initial introduction to the RIFC was great, and I’m really looking forward to attending future meetings. The RIFC meets monthly on the second Tuesday of every month at the Wild Colonial Tavern in Providence, Rhode Island. I highly recommend any aspiring video or film professionals to attend and support this collaborative.
Another video project we are in the middle of completing is for local Rhode Island apparel line Legends Limited. We recently completed a full video shoot at MGM Grand at Foxwoods Casino in CT. The shoot covered their 2013 apparel line and is expected to be finished during the second week of February. We look forward to working with Legends Limited in the future on additional video projects.
We also recently helped complete a short music video for local hip hop act DirtyDurdie, entitled “The Boycott” The video was shot during a live performance at AS220 in Providence RI and features appearances from local RI artists Milez Grimez, Swan Notty and MetaP.
On the web development side, we also recently completed a fully custom WordPress themed website for Wynn & Wynn Attorneys. This completed a major project for them that included rebranding, logo design, print marketing redesign, advertising design, and business ID design including letterhead and business cards. We executed the project in coordination with NEPubInc and Pmedia.
We have also recently completed the logo and ID design for a new real estate firm, Eastview Homes. Eastview Homes is currently renovating and selling homes in the Southern MA area, and we will be completing before and after videos for them as well. We worked with our favorite illustrator, Chris Kette to complete the logo and business cards.
Another recent logo / branding project was for CSB IT Solutions. CSB IT Solutions provides IT support and services with a focus on the medical industry. This was another collaboration between Pmedia, myself and illustrator Chris Kette.
Stay tuned for more updates from Collective Thought Media in 2013, this is promising to be a big year for the company and myself as I enter into my second straight year of 100% self employment as owner and creative director of a multimedia marketing and creative agency.
